Approximately 3,000 children 0 to 12 years old are reported missing in Australia every years. 72%  are found within the first 24 hours.

28% are not found. That equates to 840 children missing every year.

In countries around the world the numbers are higher depending on population but the percentages are similar; USA 460,000 reported missing. Germany 100,000 reported missing. Spain 20,000 reported missing.

A high percentage of children kidnapped from various locations around the world are sold on a lucrative international market. Sold to order they are destined for wealthy, baron families desperate for the child of their own they are unable to conceive or in some cases, wealthy podophile rings.

A syndicate of human traffickers of Albanian and Russian crime figures specialising in the abduction of children under the age of five has been identified as possibly being responsible.

As with any lucrative organised crime driven by supply and demand the huge profits are determined by the degree of risk and difficulty in trafficking these children to foreign locations.
